Welcome to the West Highland White Terrier Club of Southeastern Michigan, Inc.Boop
Web Site, dedicated to the West Highland White Terriers of Michigan.  Here you will find information about our club activities and events, rescue work and fund raising items.   We hope you will enjoy your visit.

Be sure and visit our new additional site for education.   The purpose of the site is an outreach to the general public, club members, rescue adopters, foster homes, club breeders, puppy buyers and owners of Westies everywhere to help them understand the "Westie".  Hopefully everyone will learn something from the site about the puppy mill problem, and responsibilities entailed in owning a Westie, including training and grooming. We have touched on health and safety issues as well. And of course we couldn’t forget having fun with your LWD.

The West Highland White Terrier Club of Southeastern Michigan, Inc. is proud to be a founding member of the Westie Foundation of America, Inc. or WFA. Please visit their site to read about all the good work they are doing for our beloved breed.

Please come back often, as we are always up-dating and adding new things.

Thanks again for stopping by and please take a minute to sign our guestbook and let us know you were here.

If you would like an application to join our club, you may find it HERE.

CLICK ON THE BANNER to obtain details on a Westie Healthy Study coordinated through the Westie Foundation. PLEASE consider participating. Blood Samples are needed; your vet will probably do this at no cost to you. The dogs do not need to be affected to participate and you do not need to have a family history so rescue dogs can be included. This is such a big issue for Westies...let's do whatever we can to help!

CLICK ON THE BANNER to obtain details on a new Westie Health Study. PLEASE consider participating. All it takes is a blood sample which your vet will probably do for free.

If your Westie IS affected by Legg-Calve-Perthes, the sample will be accepted even if you do not have a pedigree available. If your Westie is NOT affected by Legg-Calve-Perthes, a pedigree MUST be included with the sample. IF you do not have a pedigree for your dog but can provide the name of registered parents, that is acceptable. Most Rescues do not have pedigrees available however, you may have other Westies in your household who do have pedigrees. If so please consider asking your vet to submit for those dogs.

As they are identified, we will list below local vets who have already submitted samples and are willing to do this for you.
